Government Secondary School Bomba is one of the oldest co-educational Schools in the District, which started as a primary school. Lt.Tashi Lama Sir, a local resident of Bomba Village, founded it in the year 1973. His dream was to bring in the District an institution which would cater to the holistic development of the Children of Tawang.

Along with reinforcing the schools core values like integrity, resilience, pursuit of excellence and respect, the school strongly believed in education being the greatest adventure in life of a child. With this aim the school was upgraded to Middle school on the 7th of October 1985.With a minimal infrastructure the school continued to grow as a platform of innovative teaching and learning methodology where teachers aimed to be facilitators to nature Childs natural curiosity to take Shape and Flourish.

The school took to another milestone when it was upgraded to a secondary school on the 8th of November 1993.Since then the school has activity engaged students in the learning process providing opportunities for student leadership collaboration and creativity. It has always encouraged students to think independently, ask questions and explore new ideas.

The school has also witnessed the success of many of its young, bright minds, be it in the private sector or the public sector. The school has produced many stars who rose to great heights of success and fame in different fields like Business, politics, civil services, sports and entertainment.

The school now has very well equipped facilities. It has a mini Science lab provided by the STEM learning Institute to promote and support the growing needs of the students. The school can also boast about its well equipped Computer lab allowing students to access advanced technology.

Diverse collection of books across different Subjects, genres and reading levels are also available in the school. These books are not only for the education, enjoyment and entertainment of all members of the school community but also to enhance and expand the school curriculum.

The school also has a playground which has a wide variety of high quality play equipments like football kit, volley ball kit, Badminton kit, skipping ropes for younger children and specialized equipment depending on the age group allowing for diverse physical activity and play options for the school.
